Foundations (The Heart)

^{Matt 12: 34: “}O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Kjv

The heart is the foundation of the human existence. Out of the abundance of it, the mouth speaks; (what your heart is filled of, that is what your life will be filled with)

If your heart is good, your life will inevitably be good. Your attitude will also be good. The heart is an extension of what we see. It is the brain behind whatever character or exhibition we see.

Jesus said in ^{Matt. 7:17 “}Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. ¹⁸A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” 

What makes the tree good? The tree is good because of its root; it’s foundation. So if your heart (your root) is good, you will bear good fruits. An evil tree or a bitter tree (getting bitter nutrients), cannot bear sweet fruits.

The Bible tells us in ^{Matt 12: 35 “}A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

You see, God is more concerned about your heart, than He is about any other thing. That’s the part that He looks out for. That’s the part that is going back to Him (your soul).

Therefore  ^“Guard thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.” Prov 4:23.

The natural default state of any man who is not in Christ is evil but you have the choice to say “no” and choose Christ. Even in Christ the natural state is always at war with the Spirit of God (Rom. 7: 22-23), so you have to keep choosing right. Keep choosing God’s will.
