Jer 29:11 ‘For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’.
It’s 2017 already. I know a lot of us have made resolutions, if not all of us. Some of us are working with God’s blueprint of the year. But in all, there’s something we want to achieve this year.
Now God is saying I have plans for you. These are my thoughts and intentions.
So for every individual God has plans for you in this year. But you’ll choose whether to walk in it or not.
I know we all sing ‘all things are working for my good’ , but here’s what the passage says:
Rom 8: 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I’m not trying to scare you but the truth is God will only work out all things for those who love Him, who are THE CALLED, ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.
Who are ‘the called according to his purpose’? Believers who are working out God’s purposes on the earth.
You might say, ‘I was not always in line with God’s will but things were working out well for me’. I know Mercy and Grace speaks for us even when we don’t deserve it, but let me show you something.
Acts 10: 15 “And the voice came to him a second time, “What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, no longer consider common (unholy).”
Let me give you some background information so you’ll understand better. Cornelius was not yet a believer when this vision came to Peter. He was just a good man. The vision was telling Peter to go to Him so he could preach the gospel to him. But when the angel spoke about Cornelius He said ‘what God HAS cleansed’. He spoke in the PAST TENSE.
God’s work for you is finished in eternity. You’ll only choose whether to walk in it or not.
You have a choice.
Live each day choosing to live out God’s Will for you.
God has great plans for you, but you’ll have to walk with Him to see it and know it. We keep struggling because we have not yet found purpose.
When we are ‘the called according to His purpose’ then we can most assuredly know that all things will work together for our good.
Prayer: Dear God I want to live according to your plans and purposes for me. Lead me in your path now and forever. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
